BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Montana’s upcoming U.S. Senate race is seen nationally as a key state towards control of Congress. Gov. Doug Burgum, R-ND, says he is endorsing the top Republican candidate.
In a post on X Friday, Burgum says Tim Sheehy has his full support, becoming the latest Republican to back him. Gov. Greg Gianforte, R-MT, and Sen. Steve Daines, R-MT, have also endorsed Sheehy in this important race.
“He understands service and sacrifice at the deepest levels. Tim will bring the kind of leadership we need in the U.S. Senate,” Burgum’s post said.
Sheehy said he was thrilled to receive his endorsement.
“As conservative outsiders, we’ll stand with President Trump to reboot our economy, defeat inflation, seal our border, unleash American energy, drain the swamp, and Make America Great Again,” said Sheehy on X.
Sheehy is looking to flip the seat, currently held by Sen. Jon Tester, D-MT. Tester is seeking his fourth term.
